B3 Biennial Hessen Lab //2022//
FRANKFURT
Since 2012, B3 Biennial of the Moving Image has been stimulating cross-genre discourse on trends and developments in film, art, games, VR/AR and AI
National and international artists and media professionals contribute to the future of storytelling in the digital age. Objective of the B3 is to create an interdisciplinary alliance for the moving image and to initiate a cross-industry and cross-genre dialogue. It offers the international cultural and creative industries an overarching platform for innovation and exchange.
As a cross-media moving image festival with film screenings, exhibitions, conference and workshop programmes, including competition formats, it is aimed at professionals and young talents from the creative and media industries, from the fields of business, politics and science as well as the interested public.
At each B3, a focus theme is at the centre of the programme. Past themes have been Expanded Narration (2013), Expanded Senses (2015), On Desire (2017), Realities (2019), Truths (2020) and Identity (2021).
B3 honours established artists and young talents with the B3 BEN Award. The most recent main award winners include outstanding, internationally renowned artists such as Oliver Stone, Willem Dafoe, Steve McQueen and Anne Imhof.
The subject of this year’s festival, 15-23rd October 2022, was TRANSFORMATION. Semantica was invited to participate in the B3 Hessen Lab, part of the B3 Talent Forum: An initiative of B3 in cooperation with HessenFilm und Medien GmbH. The lab is an opportunity to develop the project’s potential through innovative technological applications and new digital paradigms.
